Beth Deckman Therapeutic Massage
Beth Deckman Therapeutic Massage
A: Massage therapy has many benefits: Alleviates stress, improves circulation, relaxes tight, sore muscles, improves range of motion, and much more. The most obvious benefit shared by virtually everyone is that a full body massage feels great!
A: Sessions are a full 30, 60, 75, or 90 minutes in duration. This is important to note as, in many cases, a "60 minute massage" is actually only 50 minutes of hands-on time with the remaining 10 minutes being used for consultation, undressing/dressing, and room preparation.
A: I will have you complete a brief health history. Based on that, we will discuss any current concerns you might have as well as your expectations from your treatment.
A: Depending on your level of comfort, you may or may not totally undress. I will give you your privacy while you undress and you will be professionally draped with a sheet and blanket at all times, only exposing the area being treated.
A: Make yourself comfortable! Most people close their eyes and relax, others prefer to talk. Most importantly please let me know if I can do anything to make you more comfortable.
A: Most people feel very relaxed with a heightened sense of relief from pain and tension. You may feel some soreness in areas where more intense work was performed. This is common but should last less than 24 hours. Please contact me if soreness persists longer.
A: The stress relieving, soothing results are enough for many to include massage as a regular part of their lives. I have clients who see me weekly, bi-weekly or even monthly. For most people, cost often dictates how often they are able to get a massage. Some injuries or conditions may benefit from more frequent massages initially, primarily to help accelerate improvement. Then the frequency can be adjusted to more of an "as needed" basis to maintain and/or continue progress.
